Despite of the fact that spring governs the woods, its soil is still covered with a thick layer of withered brown leaves. Because we hardly have had any rain since winter ended, this year, it takes an extra long time for nature to decompose the fall leaves.
Taking a walk in the forest, I suddenly see a beautiful butterfly fluttering in the air. Its colours - don't ask me how it's possible - a perfect match with the, for this time of the year, unusual colours of the forest soil. Luckily, the butterfly makes a long stopover, which gives me the opportunity to make a picture of this fine example of animal camouflage.
